I've been looking for data and statistics about "how many laptop backpacks (book-bags) have been sold throughout 2008, 2007, 2006, etc..?"

Well, since there do not appear to be any centralized stats for that, you should start contacting retailers that sell backpacks... like Walmart, Target, etc. Ask them for their statistics on how many have been sold in the past years. They would know.
